Our Mission - Charles Street - Baltimore Maryland
The mission of the Charles Street Development Corporation will be to concentrate upon the enhancement of retail opportunities and activity along Charles Street, from Pratt Street to North Avenue, by encouraging the viable and complementary synergies necessary to re-establish this historic corridor as the place to shop, work, dine and live in a safe, hospitable, and pleasing environment, therefore enhancing the quality of life of the neighborhoods abounding it.


Our Goals - Charles Street - Baltimore Maryland
The Charles Street Development Corporation is a not-for-profit Maryland Corporation, created by the major interests along Charles Street to spearhead its redevelopment.

Guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, the Corporation is committed to the revitalization of Charles Street through a variety of private and public sector initiatives including:

Property rehabilitation
Encouraging developer investment, particularly that aimed at strengthening retail along Charles Street
Developing a program and bringing about the implementation of public improvements
Marketing properties within the redevelopment area
Conducting programs to stimulate the area's economy
Serving as an information exchange for the area's property owners
Providing referral aid to those seeking financial assistance for activities within the area

In general, the Corporation is Baltimore's vehicle for promoting and assisting in the redevelopment of Charles Street through public and private sector efforts.
